He was perfect for me.
His eyes were like
Blue swirls of the ocean,
So deep and enticing,
But capable of making me drown.
The journey to sea
Was lovely;
My emotions so deep
Yet untouchable
Like the water’s depth.
Sometimes I still wish
To swim with him
And feel our heartbeats together,
Pulsing like the tide’s waves.
But it’s a rush too intoxicating;
I know it would sting
In the end
And the salty drops
Would pour from my eyes.
So our time together
Is but a keepsake,
Like a perfect seashell –
Unique and breathtaking,
But sharp and ready to cut me
If I step in the wrong place again.
