Near Death Experience

By: Tori Auckland/Senior Writer
As I walked into the airport I heard someone scream,
“Duck!”
In fear I dropped to the ground and covered my head. I didn’t know what to do. Fear filled the airport. All I could hear were screams and cries. Many people were dropped on the floor like me. A million thoughts ran through my head,
“What’s going on? Who is it? I won’t be able to tell anyone goodbye. My wife can’t live without me! She doesn’t even know how to mow the lawn!”
As much as I wanted to run I couldn’t get my feet under me, I was completely paralyzed with fear. I was going to die and that was that. As I laid there I heard footsteps run closer and closer to me, coming from behind. My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest. Then it happened. I felt it on my leg, up my back, and then over my head. I heard the guards still yelling. I picked up my head and watched a small yellow duck running away after it had just crawled over my body. The guards continued to chase it yelling,
“Someone stop that duck!”
I stood up, picked up my bag, and never told anyone that a small yellow duck was my near death experience.
